Chicago Winery-Harvest Intern (Paid)

Chicago Winery is an urban winery, restaurant, and private events space in the heart of River North in downtown Chicago opening late 2022. Guests will be able to tour the winery, explore Chicago Winery's full portfolio of wines, or enjoy seasonal Modern American fare at the onsite restaurant. For those looking to commemorate a special occasion, Chicago Winery also functions as a private event venue, hosting full-service weddings and social events, meetings, holiday parties and corporate events.

Position Summary

Chicago Winery is looking for seasonal harvest help for our inaugural 2022 vintage located in Chicago, IL. Chicago Winery is a premier urban winery focused on quality. This is a very unique opportunity to get hands-on experience with a wide range of styles from multiple and distinct AVA's. Previous experience is a plus, but not required. Housing not provided. Internship will run from approximately end of August -end of October.

Key Responsibilities

• cleaning and sanitizing equipment
• grape sorting and processing
• Performing cap punch downs and pump overs
• additions
• Racking / wine and juice movements
• analysis, Brix and Temperature
• fermentation management
• bottling as needed

What we are looking for:

• Attention to detail
• Proactive and able to work independently and as a teamplayer
• Able to work long and flexible hours
• Able to regularly and frequently lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Able to safely climb ladders, equipment etc.
