Position: Telecommunications Field Engineer/Construction Manager

We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time a full-time, Field Engineer/Construction Manager. The position is open to be based in Charlotte, North Carolina or Greenville, SC.

Responsibilities will include coordination, management, and construction aspects for telecommunications projects including in-building, new-build tower sites, co-location sites, and small cell sites. Candidate will work closely with other members of S&ME's telecommunications team in developing and completing A/E design projects and growing our telecommunications practice.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple telecommunication projects ranging from In-building solutions to 4G/5G pole installation. To include final inspection of base station equipment and transmitters;
  • Manage multiple projects to ensure project timelines are meeting contractual agreements within established deadlines;
  • Ensure assigned projects don't exceed budget;
  • Work directly with subcontractors to plan current and future installation projects;
  • Provide leadership guidance, training and mentorship for developing associates;
  • Develop and deliver reports to all stakeholders;
  • Provide on-site oversight;
  • Establish and foster team culture with a commitment to timeliness, responsiveness and exceptional work product;
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and work collaboratively to resolve hardware problems for products;
  • Place and track equipment orders identified in collaboration with installation team members;
  • Works collaboratively with other member of installation team for successful project implementation;
  • Travels extensively to client locations for walk-throughs, installations, and problem resolution.

Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work as a team player. Candidates should also be self-motivated and dynamic team players.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree or vocational training preferred;
  • Minimum five (5) years related experience to include installation leadership roles and/or construction management experience;
  • General knowledge of construction activities and the ability to build project timelines to include milestones, productivity volumes and scalability;
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of the National Electrical Code;
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of the TIA/EIA structured cabling installation standards (Telecom and IT focused);
  • Experience with process implementation and training and building cohesive teams;
  • Thorough knowledge of the telecommunications industry specifically related to A/E Design.
