HDR is looking for a Senior Project Engineering Lead to join our Building Engineering Services team in either Raleigh or Charlotte, NC. The Senior Project Engineering Lead will be on the front line with the client, program management teams, design teams, and construction teams to help shape delivery of multi-year, multi-million dollar projects which have the ability to positively impact our practice across North America. They must be a seasoned leader with excellent communication skills, and must be comfortable leading multi-disciplinary MEP engineering teams necessary to complete complex projects through the entire life cycle. On a day-to-day basis, they will be expected to:

* Plan, direct and monitor the MEP engineering aspects of concurrent large multidiscipline projects and medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically involving large project teams across North America

* Establish and maintain client relationships and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings

* Drive successful execution of projects and outcomes; scope, schedule, budget, and quality

* Anticipate and identify potential issues and risks that may impact project implementation and assist the client and project team with problem solving, issues resolution, risk mitigation and timely decision making

* Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and Area Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews

* Monitor team performance and establish robust QA/QC program to ensure all services provided meet client expectations

* Mentor MEP engineering teams as needed

* Must be willing to travel

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • PE license
  • Minimum of 15 years of related industry experience
  • Experience managing large multidiscipline Science and Technology facility design projects
  • Previous experience managing staff, clients, and contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Local candidates are preferred
