Job title: Concrete Foreman

Reports to: Superintendent and Trades Manager

Position Description:

Plan, organize, supervise, and complete concrete projects.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as working foreman while leading concrete crew to complete concrete work.
  • Leverage knowledge of concrete to fully install scopes per plans and specifications including paving, site work, retaining walls, earthwork, drilled foundations, building foundations, elevated concrete, and tilt wall concrete.
  • Review construction documents and coordinate construction ahead of work going in place.
  • Provide input on jobsite logistics, organization, plant layout, equipment, and manpower utilization.
  • Perform construction layout using surveying practices and equipment to establish elevations and layout from control points.
  • Walk with Inspectors for required inspections. Document comments from Inspector and fix deficiencies prior to pouring concrete. Document corrections made to remedy deficiencies.
  • Complete Pre-pour Plan & Checklist for pours and lead concrete pours, manage and delegate concrete pour activities and responsibilities to concrete crew.
  • Pre-plan work, monitor how weather conditions (e.g., wind, heat, or cold) affect pouring and curing of concrete throughout entire pour process.
  • Inspect installation of embeds and anchor bolts prior to, during, and after concrete pour.
  • Participate in interviews and recommend hires for Trades employees.
  • Supervise and develop assigned Trades employees, provide input or feedback on or complete timely performance appraisals.
  • Address Trades employee needs and resolve problems. Provide employee feedback, rewards, and discipline as required.
  • Develop concrete work schedules and crew assignments.
  • Complete time sheets, production sheets, extra work tickets, daily construction reports, and required safety paperwork daily and submit to office as required.
  • Engage with and participate in activities of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Select appropriate and operate equipment to perform work, e.g., forklifts, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, compactors, and construction hoist.
  • Assist with jobsite safety and quality programs, and daily participation in Pre-Task Plan.
  • Comply with safety protocols, and escalate and communicate effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ensure Trade employees/subcontractors comply with Turner standards and applicable safety codes, regulations, and jobsite security.
  • Inspect tools and power tools prior to use to ensure safe and working condition.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and employees.
  • Display high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned
