Position: Accountant
Location: Wadesboro, NC
Position Overview: Our Accountant role applies general accounting principles and principles of cost accounting to calculate, prepare, and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compile monthly/periodic reports from information calculated or obtained from the CMCO Business System. Including but not limited to shipments, productivity, and departmental expenses.
  • Analyzes data and prepares monthly account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance to company policies.
  • Assist with month-end close including journal entry preparation from various data sources.
  • Reviews and approves various journal entries and reconciliations prepared by other accounting staff as needed.
  • Analyze actual cost compared to standard cost and reviews in relations to product margins.
  • Assist with standard cost updates as needed.
  • Prepare wire transfers for and intercompany payables transactions.
  • Provides financial support and recommendations to other departments.
  • Responsible for maintaining fixed assets and reconciliation to ledger.
  • Responsible for preparation of a monthly capital forecast.
  • Gather and review SOX compliance reports and load in Blackline.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual operating budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint software.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Suppliers and other employees of the organization.
  • Maintains a collaborative, team relationship with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the group's achievement of goals and to help foster a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrates a friendly, responsive, service-minded attitude to all internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to accept change and new approaches, including additional responsibilities.
  • Sets work plans and considers priorities for completing assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in accounting or related field.
  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience
