The Production Manager will assist the Plant Manager in the strategic planning and organization of the facility. This position will be responsible for the organization and overall implementation of operations objectives including continuous improvement in all aspects of production, maintenance and sanitation for 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all assigned production activities that support and maintain company Safety and Quality policies and procedures, production standards, operating procedures, quality and sanitation programs and all applicable regulatory food safety guidelines.
  • Maintains all procedural production documentation required fulfilling departmental requirements.
  • Tracks and achieves plant wide and departmental KPIs.
  • Work to continuously develop and upgrade the management staff and hourly workforce.
  • Lead the operations team towards the accomplishment of Plant and Corporate goals, i.e. continuous improvement in quality, food safety, associate safety and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Support Daily Operations Reviews throughout the facility, providing direction and feedback as necessary.
  • Actively participate in Weekly/Monthly Operations Review meetings to discuss operations performance and the following week's operations performance.
  • Summarization of period end reports based upon the period end reports from maintenance and production managers. Report is to be provided to plant manager
  • Routine off shift visibility. (second and third)
  • Makes decisions on the day to day activities affecting the manufacturing Operation. Examples would be effective scheduling, labor utilization, material utilization, and operational improvements.
  • Informs Plant Manager of potential problems and obstacles that she/he comes in contact with or has access to providing solutions.
  • Leads DMAIC and other Project Teams, as assigned.

Requirements and Education

  • BA or BS degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Operations, Business, or Sciences Required.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a high speed food manufacturing environment.

Skills

  • Demonstrated capability to lead a group of people
  • Experience in different manufacturing operation
  • Successful in leading projects involving different departments or functions
  • Exposure to implementing continuous improvement and employee involvement techniques
  • Implementation experience of TPM, Experience in change Management
