We invite experienced Cardiology APPs to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds, and progressive visionaries together in our Cardiology team at Atrium Health Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute CMC Main in Charlotte, NC

Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute's Interventional and Structural Heart Program is seeking a Full-time, Cardiology NP or PA to work at our CMC Main location. This is a day shift position that is a combination of inpatient and outpatient interventional and structural cardiology, with a focus on quality care to the patients we serve. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be part of a growing team of specialized Cardiology Physicians and APPs.

This role will be an integral component of a high functioning multidisciplinary team of providers including cardiology APPs, interventional and general cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and imaging cardiologists. A successful applicant will be capable of functioning independently and with a team. He or she will be responsible for the management of patients undergoing catheter-based interventions for coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease, along with providing general cardiology care and heart failure management in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
  • Nurse practitioners must have an Acute Care Certification. At this time FNP candidates will not be considered for the position.
  • Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required.
  • +1 years of experience, Cardiology required

About the Opportunity/Position Highlights:

  • Responsibilities/procedures - This is a medical cardiology role. APP is not expected to perform procedures but will manage patients pre and post procedurally. CMC is a STEMI center. Two of the interventionalist are part of the Structural Heart Program and perform transcather aortic/mitral/tricuspid procedures, PFO closures, and LAA closures. APP is expected to perform admission, rounding, consult and discharge notes on patients in the inpatient and ED setting. APP is expected to perform admission and discharge summaries for outpatient same day procedures. APP is also expected to adequately perform clinic visits in the outpatient setting.
  • Patient panel (outpatient) - APP is expected to see 14 outpatients on a full day of clinic.
  • Schedule/Hours/ Call - Full time day shift, 40-hour work week, 4 x 10-hour shifts. Expected to participate in weekend and holiday coverage with rotation cycle. No call.
  • Setting that they will be working - Hybrid (inpatient/outpatient).
  • Opportunity to participate in committees, teaching - Opportunities to participate in committees, especially those around improving care for individual service line. APP is expected to participate in education of APP fellows, MD students, residents, or in onboarding of new APPs.
  • Interventional Team - There are currently 6 APPs and 6 MDs on the team at CMC. Applicated is expected to learn to cross cover at an additional facility as part of the broader Interventional program, totaling 14 APPs and 14 MDs.
