Job Description

Albemarle is seeking a dynamic, Marketing Communications thought leader to serve our Specialties Global Business Unit (GBU). This Senior Director will align with commercial and marketing teams in the dedicated GBU guiding go-to-market strategy (GTM) campaigns and deploying best-in-class business marketing communications practices for all stakeholders.

As a global leader, you will lead the GTM, development, execution and results across all channels and marketing programs for the GBU, directing strategic development and implementation of the marketing and advertising activities, digital experience inclusive of social media, convention and meeting planning, all sales and revenue driving activities for the GBU.

Based in our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, this role, in partnership with Specialties Leadership, will drive marketing efficiencies and activities to harmonize the campaign deliverables to ensure measurable impact.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with the Senior leadership within the Global Business Unit and other senior functional leaders to understand the market needs, and design communications strategies to develop marketing plans that grow the business globally.

  • Lead the team in creating a meaningful, integrated campaign around the broader corporate strategic business objectives.

  • Understand our customers, their needs, and the marketplace demand.

  • Have thorough knowledge about our products and how they are developed to translate that into successful campaigns, while seamlessly partnering with leaders in Media Relations, Internal Communications, Brand and all other cross-functional stakeholders.

What you bring:

  • Experience in marketing communication in a publicly traded, highly technical field or scientific environment preferred.

  • Creative approach to understanding the Specialties business marketing/positioning needs.

  • Strong understanding of marketing and communication best practices, including social media, content marketing and public relations.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute marketing and communication strategies that drive business results

  • Expertise in communications with ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, matrixed environments, and different levels of leadership both internally and externally.

  • Proven ability to build and lead resourceful teams

  • The ability to proactively build trusting relationships and employ influencing strategies to gain support and achieve results and common goals.

  • Business Partner who excels in delivering quality insights

  • KPIs, Analytics: Standardized analytics and insights into C-Suite, business and operational categories fueling over-arching OKRs.

  • 12+ years of demonstrated experience successfully leading a marketing team to meet company or organization's established goals and communications

  • Must understand and have successfully led full marketing communications integration efforts.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, branding, business, PR or a similar field

  • Exceptional ability to quickly synthesize information and make a decision that has the potential to impact Albemarle Corporation's reputation and/or share price.

  • Brand and Reputation Planning, and Project Management.

  • Able to provide candid feedback to senior leaders and influence others

  • Ability to 10% travel

This role is classified Hybrid from our CLT HQ.
