Position Summary & Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and designing new business processes.
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to improve the business processes impacted by technology changes,
  • Partner closely with various user communities, fellow team members, technical teams, and vendors to evaluate, design, test, implement, and validate solutions.
  • Identifying and defining detailed product requirements and use cases.
  • Serve as a liaison to the business community and participate in user and task analysis to maintain the business community's perspective.
  • Assist with estimating projects to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership to the team of engineers who will buy, customize, and build applications.
  • Provide direction for the development of prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrations to address business needs.
  • Integrate scientific applications with other scientific or nonscientific applications.
  • Define, implement, and promote processes, best practices and standards for development and deployment including service-oriented architecture, reusable code, usability, and security controls to support digital systems.
  • Work closely with other individuals in the organization to understand business demands and identify appropriate opportunities for solutions and continued innovation of technical capabilities aligning with business needs.
  • Manage all aspects of application development and support. Accountable for application performance/stability, end-to-end transactional flows, root cause analysis and corrective actions for any outages.
  • Study emerging technology trends and uses in similar industry settings to evaluate potential value to client.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in working with teams involved in development, production support and maintenance of Life Science software systems in QC.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously with strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking to overcome project challenges.
  • A proven record of demonstrating a leadership role in successful projects that were delivered on time and on budget.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to drive collaboration and decision making through the development of a strong team dynamic to foster alignment and commitment to shared goals and responsibilities.
  • Track record of successfully working with cross-functional teams - business users, project managers, QA, etc. to build and enhance applications and programs.
  • Ability to understand existing and new business processes and requirements to ensure proper implementation and validation of systems.
  • Technology agnostic. Must possess the ability to adapt, learn and apply the correct technology at the right time and not be biased towards an underlying platform or technology. (e.g., Java only)
  • Exceptional and well-practiced communication (verbal, written, listening), inter-personal skills ensuring the ability to interact with the business, peers, and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach with high sense of urgency and drive for result to produce innovation, agility, and velocity to support business-as-usual operations and new project implementation and administration.

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $115,000.00 - $163,750.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
