Job Summary
The successful candidate will be an integral member of Ingersoll Rand's Record to Report (RTR) North America Team part of our Finance Shared Service Center (FSSC) group. Located in our Group Headquarters, this position covers a variety of general accounting functions, liaison with offshore RTR teammates and the consistent pursuit of opportunities for process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly closes of monthly US GAAP reporting
  • Prepares and reviews accurate and timely journal entries into the GL. These include but are not limited to monthly expense accruals, agent and rep commission corrections, account/cost center corrections and payroll reporting
  • Prepares and reviews account reconciliations on monthly basis, ensuring understanding of the activity in balance sheet account and documentation used to support the balance, often involving communication with non-RTR teammates to document the support.
  • Provides analysis of accounts, balances, trends, etc to provide actionable information to business units/leaders and identify potential or actual issues to be addressed
  • Evaluates current processes to ensure fit for purpose, proposing improvements and driving or assisting with associated implementation where appropriate
  • Provides guidance and assistance to offshore RTR teammates, acting as escalation point for issues raised, providing training/coaching, SME for process and SAP issues
  • Shares information and knowledge with others within the team and whole FSSC
  • Prepares various monthly, quarterly and annual information requests to satisfy Corporate, Audit and Tax reporting requirements, assisting other departments with accounting issues and data requirements
  • Ensures compliance with Ingersoll Rand financial policies, control procedures and SOX requirements
  • Other duties as assigned or required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA and/or MBA advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years' Finance experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong prior SAP ECC experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel
  • Resilient, accustomed to working to tight and changeable deadlines, deals well with ambiguity
  • Team player, capable of working in multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. Tax, Legal, HR, SBU, SSC) across several locations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solver
  • Demonstrates compliance-based mindset, understanding importance of policies and processes
  • Availability to travel to other domestic sites and occasionally abroad
