HDR is looking for a Senior BIM Piping Designer in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. This individual will work closely with project process engineers, multi-discipline design teams, and project managers. They will be responsible for leading the design and production of process piping construction documents related to water/wastewater and industrial clients. They will be required to developing full sets of construction drawings from a BIM model, and should have a strong understanding of process design concepts including process equipment, piping layouts, flanges valves and fittings, and P&IDs. Additional duties may include planning and guiding the production of BIM models, model development, and coordinating with element authors to ensure compliance with project requirements. They must be proficient in Revit, possess strong communication and coordination skills, and should be self-motivated and detail oriented with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically excellent process designs.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of industrial piping design
• Experience in mechanical drafting for all phases of the construction documents, mechanical drawings on BIM from engineering sketches and instructions
• Proficient in Revit MEP
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of water and wastewater process piping preferred
• Experience in process piping BIM production preferred
• Navisworks experience preferred
• Local candidates are preferred
