We are currently looking for a Full Time Business Development Manager for the North America Region. The Business Development Manager-North America will have primary responsibility for identifying and on-boarding new customers through development and management of a healthy new business pipeline funnel. Managing multiple large revenue key accounts and development projects in designated segments, and assuring factory integration of new account development generated by the field sales team. Responsibilities include growing an existing portfolio of accounts and projects with annual revenue of value of $5M/year and above. Working with these accounts to expand and develop new project opportunities to grow the business. Work autonomously to identify and integrate new accounts. The candidate should have experience and understanding of the products, including business model, market trends, technology drivers, market size, key competitors, etc. Develops and maintains a network of relationships with key decision-makers and identifies market opportunities and developments. Responsible for analyzing market opportunities and developing and implementing sales and product strategies within the assigned market segment to achieve profitability and revenue growth and on-time delivery of project initiatives.

When your actions lead to success.
  • Identify, develop and on-board new accounts, through key sales funnel development.
  • Manage development efforts of large accounts for Transcontinental Advanced Coatings.
    • Familiarity with the production process of coatings.
  • Ability to travel in the ~50 - 70% range.
  • Experience with accounts with values of >$5M USD annually.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, projects and balance time and priorities.
  • Experience with account management and customer relationship management.
  • Own all dimensions of the customer relationship in assigned territory and key accounts.
  • Experience with planning and leading face to face customer meetings.
    • Strong attention to detail on meeting preparation, action items, follow up notes and action items.
  • Must have demonstrated strong sales growth due to new business opportunities.
  • Develops relationships within designated market segments with current customers, non-customers, and other decision-makers to ensure their specifications remain with Transcontinental.
  • Achieve defined targets in sales and profits in the assigned markets.
  • Drives revenue growth in new market verticals through lead generation, funnel development, and execution.
  • Inputs relevant information into the CRM software (Salesforce) to track contacts (pre & post calls), progress, including written reports concerning Market Segments, dealer, distributor, end-user, and competitor information.
  • Participates in pricing negotiations and purchasing contracts as required.
  • Develop business cases for identified new product development ideas working with customers, global sales team and product development teams in Matthews, NC, and Wrexham, North Wales
  • Develops short- and long-term forecasts and works with senior management to establish budgets and strategies required to meet sales objectives.
  • Works with Product Development teams to develop products that will grow sales and profitability.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities in adjacent markets where Transcontinental does not have a current presence but can leverage its products, capabilities and other resources to achieve a competitive advantage.
  • Research and reports competitive threats and provide recommendations on how to respond.
  • Provides input to assist in steering product development to the marketplace and toward customers' needs and opportunities.
  • Develops a value proposition for each Market Segment that supports 'Transcontinental's Leadership position and value proposition.
  • The successful candidate will attend market specific tradeshows, state and regional shows, and territory seminars and reports on key market trends, customers, competitors, market drivers, and technologies.
  • The candidate will place a strong emphasis on product value proposition development for competitive differentiation and maximization of product profit.

When your expertise drives us.

  • Familiarity to toll and contract coating (Familiarity with Roll-to-roll coating processes or similar)
  • Language skills: English required.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in business development, product management, project management, or technical business development roles, selling and leading projects in coatings, packaging, equipment or components.
  • Needs to be able to demonstrate strong customer relationship building skills.
  • Driven, results-focused, tenacious, hold team members accountable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry business development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, business, business management, or a related field (required).
  • Demonstrated experience with Key account management for accounts > $5M/annually.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Intermediate: Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) CRM (Saleforce.com or similar). Microsoft Project.
