How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Microsoft 365 Administrator, you will play a critical role within our Enterprise IT organization. The Microsoft 365 Administrator is responsible for the growth and operation of our modern enterprise workplace services, based upon Microsoft Office 365, with the primary focus being Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint. This position also plays a key role in evolving our hybrid workplace platform strategy, security, and ongoing sustainable processes.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Systems Management
  • Manage the current Exchange 2016 Hybrid environment
  • Oversee the move from Exchange 2016 on-premises to Exchange Online
  • Provide technical guidance on Office 365 architecture, services, and ongoing operations
  • Monitor the Office365 application suite and perform technical tasks related to configuration, monitoring, administration, license management, integration, and change management
  • Maintain and monitor the Mail services including mail flow, email hygiene, GAL synchronization, mailbox migration, and all services related to mailing
  • Support the implementation, communication, training, and rollout of new Office 365 capabilities

  1. Customer Service and Collaboration
  • Partner with the IT Operations, IT Applications, and IT Security teams along with IT leadership in providing guidance in the effective use of systems, products, and services
  • Define and document Azure Active Directory and O365 Policies
  • Support SPX IT and/or 3rd party partners by troubleshooting issues
  • Manage external hosting and vendor relationships

3. Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with developing the data migration process into Office 365 and develop a strategy for ongoing data management, security, and recoverability

  • Develop and promote standard operations documentation such as procedures, checklists, knowledge base articles, and user training/instructions

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of Microsoft 365 service administration experience
  • Knowledge of O365 configuration and troubleshooting of Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, and SharePoint experience

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Competence to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately
  • Ability to actively collaborate with co-workers
  • 5-8 years in Information Technology with at least five years in a customer support role
  • Experience with Okta for enterprise identity and access management
  • Experience with Proofpoint anti-spam, VoIP phone services such as Avaya / Cisco, SharePoint 2016 on-premise, Exchange 2016 on-premise, MS Azure
  • Experience with PowerShell and .NET application development
  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment
  • Platform deployment/rollout expertise
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately
  • Ability to act in a level 3 capacity, interfacing with Microsoft Support to efficiently resolve errors and recommend solutions to maintain MS 365 availability and functionality for the SPX end-user community
  • Systems administration expert, well versed in the Microsoft solution stack and who has helped manage on-premise, cloud, and on-premise to cloud transitions
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and analytical skills, and excellent customer service skills
  • Enjoys working with people and with leading technology solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and positive attitude - goes the extra mile, is committed, collaborative, willing to take on challenges, and has a can-do mindset
  • Significant experience using, managing, and administering the Microsoft 365 suite of applications, especially Exchange On-Prem, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint Online
  • Experience designing, communicating, and delivering training content to remote audiences
  • Basic drawing and diagramming skills using tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, etc.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, computer science, programming, or related field
  • Microsoft Office 365 certifications or commensurate experience

Travel & Working Environment

  • Remote
  • Occasional travel (less than10%)
