Senior Geophysicist

S&ME is in search of a seasoned Senior Geophysicist to play a crucial part in driving the progress of our projects across S&ME, leveraging your proficiency in geophysical investigations and analysis. This individual can be located in one of our three offices in Chattanooga, TN; Charlotte, NC; or Cincinnati, OH.


What You Will Do:

  • Position responsibilities will primarily focus on business development and technical assistance for our growing geophysical service line within S&ME.
  • Support the geographic growth of our geophysical services through client relationships and marketing within our regional footprint.
  • Assist, mentor, and educate our current staff professionals with the coordination and implementation of near-surface geophysical surveys to supplement our geotechnical exploration, energy, environmental, transportation, and construction services.
  • Final review and approval of proposals, reports, designs, permits, and other project requirements.
  • Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Conduct geophysical surveys using a variety of methods which include, but are not limited to, electrical resistivity, electromagnetics, ground penetrating radar, borehole geophysical logging, gravity, and near-surface seismic methods.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in geophysics.

Who You Are:

  • You have a BS or MS degree in Geophysics, Geology, or other related field
  • You have 10+ years of experience working in the field of near-surface geophysics relating to engineering, transportation, and environmental sciences
  • You have professional experience processing and interpreting various shallow geophysical data
  • You have strong client and business development skills
  • You are proficient in using a variety of geophysical instrumentation and software for data acquisition and analysis
  • You are willing to travel as necessary for project related activities

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience.
