Essential Job Duties | A postdoctoral research position is available in the Valacchi's Lab at Plants for Human Health Institute (NCSU, Research Campus, Kannapolis) for a highly motivated candidate to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of oxidative stress challenges including pollution in skin tissues. Excellent skills in the domain of cell culture techniques, molecular biology, silencing technique, CRISPR gene editing, microscopy, keratinocytes and fibroblasts isolation from human and mouse tissues, and performing experiments on 3D tissue models are requested. The Postdoctoral researcher is expected to excel in areas of skin pathophysiology. Tasks will include but are not limited to, designing and executing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data on research projects, and presenting data to seminars and conferences. The Postdoc is also expected to monitor student interns and lab personnel and help in parallel projects. Duties and Responsibilities Design experiments, develop and perform in-vitro cell-based assays and homemade 3D models. Interpret data and maintenance of detailed records of experimental observation. Experience working independently and with a team to prepare study-related documents. Train and supervise students and visiting scholars. Co-author publications, presentations, and grant applications. This position will be located in Kannapolis, NC. |
