It is the role of the Senior Business Consultant (Temporary) to be able to serve and provide leadership in a variety of capacities to ensure effective delivery and execution of business objectives. This includes but is not limited to the ability to lead and coordinate business analysis, testing and project management activities across multiple projects as needed. In addition, will work to develop relationships with business leaders with the objective of becoming a trusted business partner. The Senior Business Consultant (Temporary) will establish and direct efforts of project teams and related resources to successfully plan, develop, test and implement assigned projects and other initiatives to support achievement of defined business objectives. Needs to have experience with Treasury Management / Treasury systems. Preferably Commercial Center and Zelle. This is a temporary remote position.

FOCUS

  • Ability to lead all aspects of execution activities in support of the Line of Business to achieve business goals. This includes but is not limited to coordinate, monitor and provide leadership across multiple projects and project related activities.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead vendor engagements, selection processes, business case development, and resource planning as needed based upon the business' objectives.
  • Develop in-depth business knowledge/skills with the objective of becoming a trusted business partner in the execution of the business' goals and objectives.
  • Identifies, develops and executes strategies and supporting tactics based upon the defined strategy and priorities to engage and influence all stakeholders to make needed organizational and operational changes.
  • Serves as the primary contact for the project to the business partner, building partnerships and trust through understanding of their end-to-end processes; works closely to understand strategic and business intent of projects.
  • Work with Business Lead to implement best practices associated with leading trends within our industry specific to selected lines of business within our company.
  • Able to facilitate cross-functional / departmental collaboration to achieve consensus on objectives and solutions as needed.

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to lead multiple matrix teams across multiple delivery initiatives as needed.
  • Serves as primary contact to senior department managers for all delivery related activities and escalations.
  • Responsible for analyzing present-state, developing alternative future-state approaches and facilitating project implementations.
  • Responsible for clearly defining responsibilities and accountabilities for all delivery related activities.
  • Leads and/or supports the facilitation of Adoption & Sustainment of Change efforts for implementations with respective business partners.
  • Able to manage multiple projects / cross project activities with varying levels of complexity and/or may have broad scale accountability for the processes that support initiatives.
  • Ensures results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit.
  • Validates and / or participates in building financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
  • Partners closely with business partners to deliver project elements, including the plan to achieve project benefits.
  • Serve as a resource for change enablement by embracing change and championing new ideas/opportunities. Work with Business Lead on development and facilitation of Change Management Plans.

DELIVERY COMPENTENCIES

  • Works with Business Lead to develop business case to include business problem/opportunity, recommended solution, costs and benefits.
  • Experience with various project management methodologies and effectively implementing them, as appropriate, using best practices to achieve successful project execution.
  • Facilitate vendor RFP / selection / engagement processes as appropriate.
  • Understands and able to facilitate the collection and analysis of business requirements leveraging best practices and aligning with South State Bank's approved methodologies.
  • Proactively identify individual and cross project risks and dependencies. Ensure development of appropriate probability and impact assessment as well as mitigation plans.
  • Develops the integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts to ensure adherence/conformance to approved standards.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor performance of all delivery activities across projects and project related activities utilizing best practices and approved methodologies.
  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
  • Proactive management of delivery scope across projects to ensure alignment with overall expected business value objectives.
  • Lead and / or facilitate the execution of test plan, defect tracking and manage test environments for assigned delivery responsibilities.
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
  • Proactively identify and influence opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business units and/or teams.
  • Actively manage / facilitate knowledge transfer within the team and business units.
  • Serve as the primary resource to the business for delivery activities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or above or equivalent experience is required.
  • Certifications: Preferred Project Management Certifications (PgMP, PMP, CSM, ACP), or preferred Business Analysis Certifications (ECBA, CCBA or CBAP)
  • Experience: More than 5 years financial services industry or comparable work experience; Project Management of Complex Projects, Software Development Lifecycle, Organization Change Management, Project Management, Leadership
  • Knowledge: Program/Project Methodologies, Business Analysis, Testing Methodologies, Relationship Management.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Complete New Employee Orientation and other training classes as determined by the Director of Enterprise Execution. Required annual compliance training.

RECOMMENDED ADDITIONAL TRAINING

New Employee Orientation, as well as continual update of processes and applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports.

TRAVEL

This position requires some travel.
