Supervisor - Cross Connection Control Program

Execute and/or coordinate various cross-connection control operations and activities; support development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Cross-connection Control Program; remove barriers that may inhibit the successful resolution of field problems for our customers, field personnel, supervisors, and managers. Additional duties include data collection and analysis, documentation control, basic statistical analysis, and measures reporting. This position may also be responsible for performing for ensuring water systems follow federal, state, and Louisville Water Company rules and regulations.
This position is a temporary position with no guarantee of regular, full-time employment. Duration of the assignment is up to 12 months. As a temporary employee, this position is not eligible for company benefits, including but not limited to paid leave, paid holidays, insurance benefits, etc.
As directed, execute activities associated with cross-connection control to assure water quality; regulatory compliance with U.S. EPA and Kentucky Division of Water requirements, including Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR); and Service Rule and Regulations.
Collect and assure quality of program data, analyze results, track key program measures, and communicate results as needed to key personnel.
Plan, coordinate, and schedule daily work activities prior to and during operations using the Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) System's work assignment tools in a manner that ensures a safe and efficient working environment for co-workers and the public.
Review work tickets from completed inspections in the customer information system; analyze data outcomes; unresolved compliance issues and provide to management with deviations. This includes performing audits including quality control and assurance measures on inspections, backflow device testing results, and develop and execute actions as necessary to resolve issues.
As directed, meet and discuss non-compliance procedures with internal/external customers.
Support the maintenance of the over $2 million cross-connection customer administration fee.
Support compliance of the Louisville Water Company Service Rules and Regulations that impact cross-connection control requirements.
Support the documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and continuously improve work procedures in cross-connection control administration and field operations.
Take "ownership" of assigned sub-processes and ensure these are properly documented, properly resourced, and properly executed.
Assist in responding to customer and management inquiries concerning water quality.
Utilize basic statistical methods to summarize data to develop decision making information.
Provide support to other areas of the Water Quality and Research Department as needed.
Maintain field equipment and water quality instruments, as assigned.
Assist in the development of automated information, data collection and reporting systems that will provide data and information to support the Cross-connection Control Program objectives.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, laws, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Generally, works 40 hours per week in office.
High School diploma or equivalent; and
Five (5) years of utilities, water quality, operations, and/or plumbing/piping experience; and
Valid driver's license.
OR
Bachelor's degree and one (1) years of utilities, water quality, operations, and/or plumbing/piping experience; and
Backflow prevention device testing certification, or can obtain certification within 6 months of hire date; and
Valid driver's license.
Knowledge of water distribution system.
