We're seeking a dynamic Manager of Process Control and Automation Engineer who's passionate about driving advancements in process control and automation engineering. This exciting new position will be located in our new Pageland, SC facility supporting our Specialty Materials (SM) business unit.

As a Manager of Process Control and Automation Engineer, you're responsible for improving and streamlining our manufacturing processes through the design, configuration, implementation, support, and integration of process control and automation systems. You'll develop process control applications utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems (SCADA).

Other Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of maintenance shift operations including Safety, Quality, Company Policies, Production, Operational Cost, Lean Manufacturing Procedures and On-Time Performance.
  • Managing and supporting maintenance team including task assignment, performance management, policy adherence and development.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot challenges to appropriately recommend continuous improvement strategies and solutions.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles and process control strategies to improve operating efficiency of new and existing automation systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process control models, strategies, and other methods for ensuring strong outputs, reliability and efficiencies.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.
  • Assure process documentation is regularly developed and maintained.
  • Interface with multiple equipment suppliers to understand their equipment operation and control.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with exposure to Automation, Programming, and control systems theory.
  • At least 5 years of electrical process control and automation experience.
  • Previous leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications):

  • 3 years of electrical process control and automation experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment
  • Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs with RSLogix5000 software
  • Experience with Allen Bradley FactoryTalk View SE Station Programming software
  • Experience with Siemens Level I PLC systems, Siemens PCS7 HMI, and Siemens TDC
  • Specific knowledge of Siemens Drives S120, G150, and Simotion controls
  • Experience with Intelligent motor control centers utilizing Siemens Simocode and AS-i.
  • Experience with industrial Ethernet communications networks - architectures and troubleshooting.

Skills:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
  • Strong ability to lead, participate in, or act independently to identify and implement process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives at existing manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong ability to analyze and troubleshoot process problem utilizing data archive and analysis tools such as IBA.
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical systems
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation.
  • Hardware troubleshooting experience including low voltage AC and DC circuits, Ethernet and other communications protocols.
  • Software troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to define contractor Scope of Work Packages and supervision of installation contracts relative to controls and automation.
