Description

A MH Mechanic 3 performs preventative maintenance, repair, labor and upkeep of facilities components and systems utilized by LGSTX Services. These systems include all types of work on conveyor systems, all components of conveyor systems and other material handling equipment. In addition this position may interact, inspect, and oversee contractors work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs minor reactive repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment as designated above.
  • Possesses the ability to cut weld and fabricate.
  • Follows technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Safely operates all equipment associated with the manufacturing and demolition of conveyor systems, including fabrication /welding, and conduit and wiring installation and demolition.
  • Assists with Troubleshooting, repairing, and constructing mechanical and electrical systems including compressors, air lines, diverters, cylinders, switches, VFD's, control devices, and systems.
  • Assists with Troubleshooting, repairing and installing electrical components with voltages from 12 volts DC to 480 volts AC.
  • Assists with or follows work plan for emergency repair of critical assets. Work plan to include coordinating with operations, locating parts/tools for repair, scheduling time with equipment, etc.
  • Learns and becomes proficiency with CMMS.
  • Assists LGSTX Services and contractors on maintenance, modifications, and operations of equipment required and do so in keeping with our value of providing excellence in customer service.
  • Performs clean up and general labor for material handling maintenance as requested.
  • Available to work flexible schedules, including working all shifts, weekends and some holidays as per our customer's production schedules and requirements. Overtime may be necessary as required.
  • Demonstrates a professional attitude and is professional at all times.
  • Informs supervisors immediately of problems, issues, material shortages, etc.
  • Demonstrates flexibility with tasks and is adaptable to work changes.
  • Possesses the ability to learn quickly and take direction from other more experienced mechanics and/or supervisors.
  • Works with other departments, companies, or personnel at any time as required.
  • Maintains all required paperwork, work orders, electronic records and reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensures all equipment and work areas are kept in the highest possible state of repair and appearance.
  • Follows all LGSTX and/or customer operating procedures.
  • Is safety conscious at all times and ensures compliance with all company policies, federal, state and local regulations.

Education and/or Experience: Some experience or classwork with at least two of the following: 1) Basic preventative/predictive maintenance & troubleshooting skills and repair methods 2) Mechanical and/or electrical basic components 3) Welding and fabricating. Must be self-motivated with the ability work without direct supervision and/or as part of a team. Understands the safe use of power tools and other routine maintenance tools.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn relevant company software programs. Basic knowledge or familiarity with using a smart phone.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A current valid driver's license.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Qualifications

Experience
Basic preventative/predictive maintenance & troubleshooting skills and repair methods (preferred)
Mechanical and/or electrical basic components (preferred)
Welding and fabricating (preferred)
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision and/or as a part of the team (preferred)
