Krispy Kreme's Sr. Manager, Global Occupational Health and Safety is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety and environmental programs to help assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. In addition, this role is responsible for managing environmental operations to help ensure regulatory compliance.


HERE'S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement Company-wide safety programs & goals to promote safe work practices, aimed at preventing losses related to on the job accidents. Apply similar programs to minimize customer injury incidents.
  • Develop and implement safety strategies into manageable policies and procedures to move the Company forward to continuous safety improvement.
  • Manages the Company's air, water, wastewater, and stormwater compliance programs to help ensure our operations are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Stay current with relevant regulation changes.
  • Liaising with relevant bodies such as local, state and federal authorities to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Establish and facilitate a Safety Ambassador program in our facilities with the goal of enhancing safety culture throughout our organization.
  • Oversee and conduct environmental and safety audits of Company facilities on a prescribed schedule, maintains records and prepares reports concerning new and ongoing safety and health programs and program effectiveness. Monitors program performances; recommends and implements modifications to systems and procedures as necessary.
  • Survey and inspect Company facilities and equipment to determine compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations. Recommends corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop, implement, maintain and monitor a Safety Ambassador Program.
  • Develop, implement, conducts, maintains, and monitors safety training programs, procedures and manuals, and educational materials designed to achieve compliance with current state, federal and local laws and regulations through collaboration with the KK Training Department to create tools, materials and aids to enhance the safety training program. (e.g. Video, DVD's games, role plays, etc)
  • Select audit tools, teaching aids, such training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works. This would include familiarity with and the use of license software (e.g. Skillsoft, Risk Console, iAudit)
  • Coordinate training schedules with the individual Store Manager, Market Manager or Department Head.
  • Investigates and analyses incident reports and complaints involving work related injuries, illnesses, food contamination; prepare reports noting hazards, violations, and accidents; recommends measures to prevent recurrence. Is familiar and communicates regularly with Loss Control agents for broker and insurance carrier.
  • Coordinate training efforts when possible with Safe Driver Training Specialist and Company QA Auditor
  • Conduct training sessions in Company facilities covering specified areas such as those concerned with new employee safety orientation, on-the-job and refresher training to include but not limited to , hazard recognition, proper lifting, emergency evacuation, forklift training, slip, trip and fall prevention, Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Hazard Communication.
  • During store visits, monitor methods used by team members preforming work tasks in all production situations and make on the spot corrections. Notes potential food safety issues if observed and reports back to QA Director.
  • Make suggestions on improving ergonomic work task in the operation.
  • Provide some basic food safety training as required.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations Manager (FOM) on safety and health issues that arise during FOM audits.
  • Maintain accurate training records by location.
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences and training sessions to obtain information useful to the Risk Management Department and integrates information into health and safety training program.
  • Become involved, participate, and promote wellness activities.
  • Performs related duties as required.


YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

  • B.S. /B.A. degree with at least 5 years related experience in safety, environmental or health management and compliance or 10 years' experience in above noted area.
  • Extensive background and knowledge in both environmental regulations, facility and food safety
  • Knowledge of GMP, HARPC and food manufacturing safe practices
  • Background and have worked in and/or have a strong working knowledge of safety, NFPA and OSHA standards preferred
  • Works closely with staff in engineering, HR, QA/QC, legal, Operations, R & D and CPG as a SME.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, Internet and PowerPoint skills
  • Must be willing to train and become proficient in the Risk Information Management System (RMIS)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills
  • Self-starter
  • Demonstrate an awareness and appreciation for cultural diversity in our store community
  • Read, interpret and apply a variety of regulations related to manufacturing/occupational safety.
