Vaco has been hired to recruit for an experienced Accounting Manager at a manufacturing company headquartered in Charlotte, NC.
Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, leading the budget process, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, and completing month/year end close process, and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance and accuracy. This is a great opportunity for a highly organized, detailed, and enthusiastic Accountant to join a fast-paced team and participate in setting the long-term strategic direction for the company.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving journal entries submitted by the accounting department.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving monthly account reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end close process.
  • Reconcile financial statements, reconcile supplemental information, and ensure appropriate audit support for close activities.
  • Communicate financial reporting with senior management, ensure timely submission of financials and reporting package.
  • Responsible for financial statement preparation, account analysis, financial reporting, variance analysis, monitoring integrity of system generated calculations and interfacing with finance business partners to provide solutions which comply with accounting guidelines and meet business objectives.
  • May design, modify, and/or maintain general accounting systems to provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting
  • Certified Public Account (CPA) preferred
  • Minimum 4 years work experience in accounting
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Initiative and ability to make decisions within guidelines
  • Willingness to learn and desire to expand responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
