Job Description

The Library is seeking to hire two Summer Library Consultants, who will contribute to library summer projects and staff the library's information desk. Apply by April 7th for Full Consideration.

What you'll do:

As a summer library consultant you will contribute to library projects, including:

  • Preparation of library equipment in preparation of moving that equipment
    • Building information kits
    • Inventorying equipment
    • Creating equipment tags
    • Entering equipment metadata
  • Creating instructional content (e.g. library guides, video instructions for using equipment)
  • Assist with planning and staffing new student orientation events
  • Other library projects as assigned

You will also spend part of this role staffing the information desk, where you will:

  • Welcome library users and help them navigate the library
  • Connect library users to library resources
  • Check out and return library items

Qualifications that will help you flourish in this role:

  • Interpersonal Skills (communication, empathy, teamwork, etc. understand, communicate, interact, and relate with other people, etc.)
  • Curiosity and desire to learn new things
  • Self-starter (enthusiastic, inspired, motivated, etc.)
  • Digital Literacy (how to use a computer, browser, search engine, maybe a few specialized apps/programs)
  • Dynamic (agile, diligent, energetic, engaging, lively, versatile, etc.)
  • Punctual and able to meet deadlines

Expected Time Commitment

4-8 hrs a day, 20-40 hrs a week

Pay Rate

$15/Hr
