All about the role:

This position will have responsibility for assuring that daily import and export operations are in compliance with international customs and compliance laws related to international trade for North America, including Canada and Mexico.

What you'll do:

  • Work in conjunction with Senior Manager, North America Customs Compliance to ensure corporate-wide compliance with customs, export controls and other laws affecting international commerce.
  • Provide strategic direction in the design and execution of initiatives focused on logistics, transportation, and operations.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining process and procedures to ensure Electrolux is compliant with 10+2 Importer Security Filing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all USMCA, other FTA, special preference programs, and other government agencies regulations and requirements.
  • Accountable for ensuring import operations remain in adherence with Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duty (ADD / CVD) orders, and reporting of such.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive training programs for trade compliance personnel in a decentralized organization with a goal of standardizing processes across several product lines and locations.
  • Own the relationship with the customs brokers to include establishing key performance indicators, supervising, and auditing the performance of providers of import and export services. Identify and implement broker metrics to ensure brokers are meeting KPI expectations. Develop a formal means of measuring broker performance.
  • Work with and provide direction to Electrolux on relevant import and export compliance issues and oversee customs operations aspects of supply chain security programs including the use of effective and efficient logistical methods.
  • Maintain all necessary and applicable records required by CBP for all import/export transactions as detailed in the "(a)(1)(A) list", referenced in 19 CFR Appendix to Part 163.
  • Conduct ongoing logistical analysis and identify areas for cost saving opportunities and process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or other related major.
  • At least 10 years business experience including 5 or more years' experience in international trade and customs compliance, preferably in a multi-national environment
  • Government experience acceptable in lieu of some business experience.
  • Customs Broker's License preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
