Job Description

As the Director of Web Strategy and Management you will plan, implement, manage, monitor, and optimize our global website and digital strategy. This role will require a candidate with extensive experience overseeing end-to-end website management, addressing strategy, design, architecture, integration, and accessibility aligned to the company's overall business objectives, brand management goals and industry trends.

What You Will Do

Strategic Planning

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic guidance in planning, optimizing, and directing the design, functionality, and overall effectiveness of Albemarle's global web presence.

  • Lead, drive and implement a comprehensive web and digital strategy aligned with overall business objectives that embraces technological advancements and anticipates industry trends

  • Oversee the integration of third-party tools, APIs, and platforms to enhance website functionality and user experience

  • Develop website content strategy aligned with the organization's needs and brand strategy.

  • Develop digital roadmap for web and digital marketing campaigns

  • Ensure website quality, efficiency and adherence to industry best practices

  • Implement digital strategies to increase benchmark and increase quality web traffic

  • Manage localization and translations according to business strategy

Leadership and Communications

  • Oversee the design, development and maintenance of the global website's look, layout and functionality, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly and visually appealing.

  • Oversee design and creation of digital marketing assets, including email campaigns and landing pages aligned with digital strategy

  • Manage the end-to-end design process, from concept to launch, including hand-off to developers and user testing.

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with peers, stakeholders, and teams to align web development efforts with overall business objectives.

  • Deliver monthly and quarterly presentations to leadership reporting on web analytics and impact, as well as campaign metrics.

Content Strategy

  • Develop and implement a content strategy that includes creating, curating and managing high-quality engaging content to attract and retain online audiences with meaningful and branded web user experience.

  • Continuously optimize content based on data and insights.

User Experience (UX) Optimization

  • Continuously analyze and improve website usability, navigation and performance to enhance user experience and drive higher conversion rates.

  • Provide guidance on UI components for enhanced efficiency and user interaction.

Mobile and Responsive Design: Ensure websites are optimized for mobile devices and employ responsive design principles to accommodate various screen sizes and devices.

Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets related to web strategy and web properties, including the website enhancement, SEO/SEM campaigns, tools and resources.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams, including marketing, IT, design and product development to align web strategies with broader company initiatives.

Organic and Paid Search:

  • Implement and monitor effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) strategies, to improve organic and paid traffic to the company's website

  • Consult on paid search campaigns, developing appropriate tags and triggers to measure conversions

Web and Digital Marketing Analytics and Reporting:

  • Utilize web analytics tools to track and measure website performance, user behavior, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Use this data to make informed decisions and optimize web engagement strategies.

  • Provide support to digital marketing campaign analysis strategy and roadmap

  • Develop and maintain a website analytics framework, to measure key performance indicators (KPIs) and support business strategy

Qualifications

What You Will Need

  • Proven experience in web strategy, digital marketing, or a related field, ideally in a leadership role
    Robust understanding of web technologies, digital marketing best practices, and industry trends

  • Preferred experience with the existing tech stack including: Salesforce, Google Marketing Platform including Analytics, Tag Manager and Data Studio, Heat mapping, SEO tools, Jira, SEO/SEM platforms, Drupal

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Adaptability staying current with evolving digital marketing technologies and trends.

  • Experience working in a Fortune 500 or similarly large and complex organization is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and achieve strategic objectives in the digital space.

  • Able to seamlessly transition between strategic planning and hands-on execution including:

  • Deep attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills

  • Incredible time management skills with the ability to multi-task

Experience

  • Web strategy with 12+ years of strategic website management experience

  • Backend and operational website management experience

  • Overseeing end-to-end website development, addressing strategy, web content, design, architecture, integration, and accessibility

  • Content creation, writing and presentation skills.

  • Data-driven decision-making leverage data, analytics, and tools

  • Troubleshooting website issues in a fast-paced environment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field
