Sr. Director, Commercial Finance

As Head of Commercial Finance for North America, you will shape, influence and collaborate in order to drive growth and change within Business Area North America (BA NA).

All about the role:

You will lead and develop the Commercial Finance department to positively impact the business area's ability to forecast sales, set and monitor price, and track and analyze key performance indicators. This position reports to the CFO, BA NA and is based in Charlotte, NC.

You will positively impact the Business Area's results by driving the region's sales, profitability and pricing strategy through financial analytics. You will be a member of the BA NA Finance Leadership and the Sales Leadership teams where you will contribute significantly to support, develop and implement the regional Finance and Sales strategies.

What you'll do:

  • Be a strong business partner and collaborate to the leadership of BA NA, Finance leadership and Sales leadership teams
  • Further develop a strong Commercial Finance team for the Business Area. This includes continuing to develop the skills and competencies for the team through people development and coaching.
  • Provide the financial acumen and leadership required to manage and control the financial activities, transactions and resources (people, processes and systems) of the Commercial Finance and Pricing team while driving standardization and continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement key strategic priorities for the BA and Finance function.
  • Drive continuous improvement culture in the organization
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive revenue management strategies that address consumer and shopper behaviors, pricing elasticity, and channel dynamics. Your approach will be grounded in deep analytical insights into consumer segments and channel profitability to identify growth levers and performance drivers
  • You will oversee the analysis, tools, dashboards, and approaches of promotional ROI, pricing, and consumer responses to create targeted, effective pricing/promotions that maximize long-term revenue and category expansion
  • Champion the development of revenue management capabilities across the organization. Elevate the revenue management acumen of the team and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Your leadership will ensure cross-functional alignment and collaboration, driving the organization towards shared revenue growth objectives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee Commercial Finance organization, including sales finance, AR/Billing/Credit and Pricing
  • Participate in the ongoing business management by providing counsel to the senior executive team regarding implications of business decisions as well as forecasting future performance and profitability (profitability per channel/platform/market analyses)
  • Engage with Sales teams to ensure timely, accurate and thorough Promotional Spending Analysis, Volume Rebate and other related analysis for each channel to measure the profitability of the channel
    Lead development of analytical tools, both tactical and strategic, including scenarios to reach growth and profitability targets and improvement of forecast accuracy, including both sales and sales related expense
    Interpretation and communication of financial performance, implications and recommendations
  • Identify, lead and develop talent in order to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting organizational and functional goals. This may include: selection and onboarding of talent, communicating effectively to foster a culture of engagement, cascading vision, creating goal alignment, and coaching through feedback, development planning and performance management
  • Spearhead initiatives to build revenue management capabilities at scale within the organization. Promote an agile, test-and-learn mindset that encourages innovation and responsiveness to market dynamics
  • Mentor a cross-functional team in the principles and practices of revenue management. Work closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to revenue growth and strategic pricing
  • Harness the power of data and advanced analytics to gain a granular understanding of consumer behaviors, pricing sensitivity, and promotional effectiveness. Translate these insights into actionable strategies and optimal promotional calendar that drives revenue growth and market share expansion
  • Leverage external / competitive insights to drive market pricing with ongoing monitoring of market pricing, elasticities, and willingness to pay
  • Craft customer and market-specific strategies that leverage deep consumer insights, channel growth potential, and product portfolio optimization to drive net revenue growth and enhance profitability
  • Support active management of trade spend to ensure aligned incentives that drive overall revenue growth & efficiency


Who you are:

  • You possess a bachelor's degree in, finance or a related field and a master's degree or CMA designation are a plus.
  • You have 10+ years of experience in relevant finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment with over 5 years of leadership experience
  • You possess an innovative mindset with the ability to execute strategic initiatives that drive performance and have project management experience, leading and working with diverse individuals in cross-functional teams

  • You have demonstrated experience in financial reporting and analysis, cost reduction, inventory control, tracking and managing costs and results against a budget with the ability to think strategically as well as manage and handle the details.
  • Experience driving revenue management, strategic pricing, or similar functions in a manufacturing or CPG setting (piloting and developing these capabilities is a plus)
  • You excel in influencing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change. Your collaborative approach and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly make you a natural leader in capability building and strategic transformation efforts.
  • You are adept at leveraging analytics for strategic decision-making and have a proven track record in developing and implementing pricing realization strategies. You have experience leveraging dynamic tools for activities such as tracking of competitive pricing and portfolio data, elasticity modelling, Promo design and ROI, and/or rebate optimization.
  • You have experience driving strategic revenue management, including any of the following: active promotions management & ROI, trade terms design & optimization, active mix management to drive margin realization, and analyzing overall portfolio pricing architecture.
