Position Description

We're looking for a full-time, staff Manager, Subcontracts, MC to join our Day & Zimmermann team.

Responsible for the management, issuance and execution of subcontracts, supplier solicitations and review of subcontract terms within per capital projects' requirements within the Nuclear, Fossil, Renewables, Government and Industrial market sectors; Develops and manages subcontractor relationships; Responsible for the creation and execution of subcontracting activities and documents per the prime contract in a matrixed organization; Participates in formulating strategies to reduce the total costs of services to positively impact the business' profitability; Collaborates with key internal stakeholders to ensure Client requirements and schedules are met; Supports key operational stakeholders to ensure SAP and Supply Chain processes are compliant; Leads and participates in the Proposal process.

As the Manager, Subcontracts, MC, here's the work you'll do:

  • Develops and leads the execution strategies to improve supply chain performance through process, innovation, and capability development; Drives a culture focusing on process, compliance, metrics and tangible results; Contributes to the ongoing development of Supply Chain best practices across MC; Acts as a change agent to manage and influence change, drive customer focus, and accountability.
  • Leads the proposal efforts including the development of the Supply Chain estimate, Project Procurement Plan and strategy, supplier solicitation, sourcing & negotiations and supplier quality verification to ensure the proposal deliverables meets Client expectations; Provides feedback and guidance on Supplier/Subcontractor selections in addition to appropriate risk mitigation strategies for optimal performance.
  • Provides oversight and management of the Subcontract lifecycle from preparation of the RBL to Subcontract closeout; Develops and administers subcontracts for MC clients; Reviews and approves Supplier commercial term redlines and negotiates optimal outcomes for MC.
  • Reviews client contractual terms to develop the flow-down provisions required for the procurement of services; Provides guidance on disputes and risk management/mitigation including on-site problem resolution, pre-qualification of Suppliers and identification of potential risk exposures relating to price and schedule.
  • Engages in timely communication with Supply Chain Management and/or Project Manager of potential issues to ensure and/or mitigate impact to scheduled dates/deliverables; Attends project meetings including Kick Off, and Project Status meetings as directed. * Leads, guides, directs and mentors direct reports; Monitors overall team performance, conducts performance reviews, coaches and develops team members.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage internal/external customer requirements utilizing resources to accomplish tasks efficiently and support schedule in a matrixed organization.
  • Supply Chain professional with developed business acumen and proven ability to reduce supply chain costs and improve efficiencies through process improvement(s) and innovation.
  • Forward thinker with quick adaptability to change, possesses strong analytical skills to break paradigms and promote creativity within a matrixed organization; Advanced negotiation skills; Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build strong relationship; Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Highly proficient using MS Office and SAP; EPC & Government Contracting experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data from various systems/sources to determine opportunity/root cause. Possesses a passion for process and problem solving with a natural desire to simplify processes and optimize efficiency and will to win.
And if you have these qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • 3 - 5 years
  • CPSM preferred

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $79,040 - $118,560. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
