Job Description

We are searching for Project Manager (Bus Prof) II for a 1 yr. contract assignment. The person will be managing multiple projects based out of the Denver steam and chilled water plants, maintaining district cooling and steam heat throughout downtown Denver. Most of the day could be doing oversight of the vendors out in the field since most of the work is time and material.

The person would also be attending morning plan of the day meetings and working with operations throughout the day, scoping and identifying issues. The person may be working on the computer half a day and then going out into the field to check/verify if projects are in progress. Most of this work is mechanical and the person would need to have a mechanical engineering background, including experience with mechanical systems.

Location: Denver, CO

Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for leading all the capital improvement projects from pipe replacement, valve replacement, vault replacement, etc. in the streets of downtown Denver; they'll be responsible for managing the projects from start to finish, helping with determine what projects need to be created, providing justification, etc.
  • Will be responsible for overseeing the work in the field and overseeing contractors.
  • The person will be responsible for cradle to grave project management, to include budget/schedule management.
  • The role will require this individual to report to site five days a week due to the nature of the work.
  • This role will also be in close communication with some of the outside customers that we supply steam heat and chilled water to customers throughout downtown.
  • Will also be responsible for interfacing with contractors and providing oversight.
  • The person will need to work with our design groups to come up with engineering designs and executing those out in the field.

Requirements:

  • Must have an Mechanical Engineering Degree or commensurate mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience in SAP - work order management is helpful.
  • Must have at least 5 years of cradle to grave PM experience to include budget/schedule management.
  • Willing to be "boots on the ground". Must have mechanical engineering aptitude or experience; ability to read drawings, etc.
  • Project Management experience such construction management as well; any kind of large industrial experience would be applicable; piping, valves, vaults, underground utilities.
  • Microsoft Office software. SharePoint for document control, Excel for budgeting.

EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) certification preferred.

Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
