Provide engineering and technical support for environmental compliance under general direction of unit manager.
Essential Job Tasks:
Obtains permits and providing project management and compliance support for landfills and CCR impoundments, groundwater monitoring and data analysis, supporting development of technical studies and reports required for compliance with the CCR program, engineering analysis and fieldwork to support pond closure activities.
Obtains permits and providing project management and compliance support for CWA and Safe Drinking Water Act programs such as well and septic systems, construction and industrial stormwater programs, and wastewater programs.
Evaluates proposed and promulgated environmental regulations and the potential impacts corporate-wide to Santee Cooper business functions.
Monitors and determines impacts of proposed and promulgated federal, state, and local environmental regulations on Santee Cooper projects and operations.
Develops and implements projects, programs, procedures, and guidelines needed to meet these regulations.
Investigates impacts of proposed and promulgated Federal and State environmental regulations on Santee Cooper operations.
Develops proposals, analyzes bids and quotations, and selects consultants for environmental projects of moderate complexity.
Tracks and manages costs for ongoing procurement contracts.
Formulates project tasks, proposal requirements, analyzes qualifications and quotations, and selects consultants and contractors for major environmental projects.
Serves on the corporate spill response team.

Engineer I
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college + 2 years environmental related experience is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college + 5 years environmental related experience is required.
