The Director, HR Program Management is responsible for creating and executing an integrated program plan that will lead to a successful business transformation and implementation of functional technology for the HR functions for GXO Americas & APAC region. While implementation will be focused on the regional level, this role will help guide and define our global HR design and Target Operating Model. It will be integral to the success of the Global HR team. In addition, this role willbe responsible forpartnering with our business services partner(s) for HR services and successfully managing that partnership.Success for this role will be region wide, multiyear delivery, maintenance, and organizational integration of business transformation for HR in conjunction with the implementation of core technology systems for both teams.

Critical responsibilities include creating and tracking progress against an integrated project plan for HR, incorporating internal and external stakeholder input, governing, and communicating overall progress of the program to HR and Region leadership teams. This person will act as the primary liaison between the Regional HR leadership team and our business services partner(s), responsible for delivering all program goals on an annual basis.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Lead the program core team in the development and execution of an integrated program plan across various work streams.
  • Create Integrated Plan that encompasses processes, business transformation and IT system readiness. Transformation to include process mapping, defining future state and gap assessment, developing standardized processes and leading change.
  • Actively manage key interdependencies among functions, processes, and business groups.
  • Maintain and monitor team performance to the integrated plan. Identify dependencies and manage the critical path.
  • Manage and communicate all financial program goals, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting and savings tracking as needed in conjunction with our finance partners.
  • Drive a high-performance culture by fostering innovation, personal accountability, and a commitment to results.
  • Identify, mitigate, and highlight relevant risks to program sponsors.
  • Support project managers and project teams to successfully achieve stated objectives.
  • Conduct regular status updates with Program and Executive sponsors, facilitating discussion to obtain alignment on required decisions.
  • Provide structured thinking to the project team on the overall planning and execution to obtain alignment on required decisions.
  • Provide leadership and input to other regional HR programs aligned with the overall global HR goals and objectives.

  • Establish and utilize best in class PM tools and techniques.
  • Lead the team in appropriate decision making through strong judgement and the ability to analyze options and implications.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with functional leaders and stakeholders to drive success of the program.
  • Drive transparency, communication and close collaboration between interdependent teams, projects to ensure success of overall strategic programs portfolio.
  • Communicate effectively to all levels in the organization. Able to synthesize complex situation to highlight relevant areas for discussion or decision making.

Governance

  • Establish governance approach, including with the GXO Global Business Services team, to drive performance, accountability, and ownership across stakeholders
  • Develop, provide and report out on metrics to measure efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of project teams, including internal teams and external partners.
  • Conduct gap and root cause analysis to determine performance issues, resolution and required escalations.

People Leadership

  • Indirectly lead a large-scale project team across HR Functions to ensure efficient execution of transformation programs and implementations.
  • Mentor and coach project managers on project planning, project management, change management, communication, and stakeholder management

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • At a minimum you'll need:
  • 7 - 10 years' experience with a strong track record in driving large and complex business transformation projects, preferably in the Logistics/Warehousing industry.
  • Experience working with external HR services partners, including BPO Vendors and Offshore Support Providers.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience. MS, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Large scale program management experience.
  • Experience leading business transformation, particularly in HR or Finance.
  • Experience with HRIS implementation (HRIS: Success Factors and Service Now)
  • Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, effective stakeholder management and communication across all levels.

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum or other methodologies a plus
  • PMP certification highly preferred
