Ameresco has a new opportunity for a Lead Operator reporting directly to the Site Manager at a combined heat and power (CHP) plant. Major equipment at the plant consists of two gas turbine generators with HRSGs, one steam turbine, three package boilers and associated balance of plant equipment. The Lead Operator will work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the start-up of the new plant as needed.

  • Ensure the plant is run in a safe manner.

  • Operate the plant during shifts.

  • Troubleshoot plant systems.

  • Act as first point of contact with our Navy customer.

  • Respond to plant upsets and return to normal operations.

  • Operate the plant within environmental limits.

  • Operate the plant using HMI Screens in control room and out in the field.

  • Determine maintenance required and report to Site Manager.

  • Work in Ameresco Asset Management Software System AssetPlanner.

  • Perform minor maintenance and preventative maintenance.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum seven years of experience in power plants.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of boilers, turbines, BOP equipment and water treatment

  • Ability to use a computer for tasks such as timecards, training, and procedure retrieval

  • Ability to work in different environmental conditions.

  • Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence.

  • Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.

  • This position may require eligibility to Review DoD Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)

  • This position may require the ability to obtain a DoD Non-Escort Access Badge.
