The Fresh Market currently has an opening for an Assistant Coordinator - Produce Procurement in our Corporate Offices in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Assistant Coordinator - Produce Procurement will be responsible for grower contacts, field inspections, warehouse contacts, and vendor start ups. In addition, the position will focus on produce margin analysis, inventory, and cost negotiations. The Assistant Coordinator - Produce Procurement will be responsible for managing secondary and local produce networks by store and assist with truck schedule's, maintenance, and delivery times. The position will also be responsible for order time verification and compliance (order integrity). The Assistant Coordinator - Produce Procurement will create and work on credit reporting, vendor integrity reconciliation, and the reconciliation of credits. In addition the position will be responsible for the construction of Wholesale Specific documents, and receiving standards, and a "Best in Class" growers list. The position will be responsible for the development of proper aging guidelines for product and implementing the process at each distribution center. The Assistant Coordinator - Produce Procurement will conduct and maintain cost analysis on the supply chain for all categories of produce with a concentration on In-bound/Out-bound freight up charges, credit cost, and FOB price accuracy. The position will be responsible in communicating weekly forecast target quantities to District Managers, Store Managers, and Department Managers. In addition, the position will be required to ensure the prioritization and delegation of daily responsibilities as directed by the Vice President of Marketing. The Assistant Coordinator - Produce Procurement will be expected to lead by example and create a warm, inclusive, and safe environment for our employees and vendors.

QualificationsThe Fresh Market will require seven to ten years experience in chain produce buying, category management, and distribution. A Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in a related field from a credited college or university is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess three to five years demonstrated experience as a produce retail merchandiser. Demonstrated experience with produce quality assurance and technical food safety is required. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of margin management systems and marketing theory as it relates to retail stores is preferred. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills in the following software: Word, Excel, OLAP, and ESSBASE. The ability to build and maintain professional working relationships within and outside The Fresh Market is required. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, highly motivated with a sense of urgency, and possess a respect for detail. The ideal candidates will be effective with negotiation skills with growers, shippers, and local producers. Travel will be required.
