Security Officer - GVDC

Position Description
Grainger is looking for a Security Officer to provide security at one of our distribution facilities on a rotating schedule during the week on 2nd shift and during the weekend on 3rd shift. Make periodic tours of the building for fire, safety and security purposes and make written reports of irregularities. Monitor the electronic surveillance system. Check all vehicles and persons entering and exiting the property and complete appropriate paperwork; handle emergency situations according to written procedures. Ensure compliance with safety, security and fire protection procedures.

Position Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Two to three years of Law Enforcement or Security related experience preferred.

* SLED certification for Security Officers and ability to pass CPR certification.

* Must be able to climb stairs, do extensive walking when making rounds, able to open and close trailer doors; able to read and distinguish between alarm types, warning lights, CRT screens and respond appropriately.

* Able to handle multiple activities simultaneously.

* Occasional pushing, pulling and lifting of product up to 75 lbs.

* Maintain a safe work environment.

* Provide courteous service to visitors.
