TSC Alabama Operation Highlights:

TSC's Alabama Operation provides products and services in the areas of radar, communication systems, sensors, antennas and other electronics systems to the missile, radar/sensor system, communications, control systems, data acquisition, and signal processing markets. The company has developed products ranging from chip-level, application-specific, integrated circuits (ASIC) to complete, turnkey radar and communication systems. TSC has established a state-of-the-art hardware capability that is well respected by customers in Government and Industry. TSC also provides full spectrum systems engineering support including theoretical analysis, requirements generation, interface control, and test planning/execution/data analysis.

Job Description:

TSC is seeking highly-motivated students who are pursuing a degree in Engineering for its Cooperative Program at its Huntsville, AL office. These students shall excel academically and exhibit a true passion for their work while demonstrating a positive attitude. During this experience, students will apply modern quality theory to production practices and gain valuable experience in Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, Production Metrics applying mathematical concepts and gain an appreciation for the impact of applying quality practices to development, preproduction and production activities.

Our co-ops commit three semesters to TSC by an alternating work schedule with their school schedule. These three semesters offer students the opportunity to clarify their academic focus and test their career interests and goals. Many of our experienced engineers were at one-time TSC co-ops and it's our goal to continue in this tradition.

Our co-ops shall have an interest in ensuring quality of production radars/sensors, missile seekers, and communications systems. They will also have a strong desire to apply quality principles in the following areas:

  • Printed Circuit Board Assemblies
  • Electronic Chassis and Boxes
  • Cable Assemblies
  • Mechanical Assemblies
  • Process Improvement


The co-ops' primary role is to support the full time Quality Professionals in inspection and Quality Engineering. Co-ops are given opportunities to get hands on, practical work experience to help them further excel at, appreciate, and understand the application of their college coursework. As the co-ops gain more experience and coursework, they are able to take on more responsibilities and further aid the engineering staff. Listed below are some of the job-related responsibilities for the co-ops at TSC, Alabama Operations.

  • Tracking Quality Deficiencies
  • Interpreting Test and Inspection Data
  • Reviewing Test Results and Inspection findings
  • Developing Metrics and Statistical Analysis of trends
  • Investigating problems and assisting in the determination of root cause.
  • Developing lean practices with an emphasis on practical implementation of processes.
  • Deployment of new processes, process improvements and gathering metrics to evaluate
  • Learn use of advanced mechanical measuring equipment and other inspection equipment
  • Witness Test operations both internal and external where required.

Co-op Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university and be in good academic standing.
  • Applicants should be in pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance.
  • Placement is competitive.
